What to watch until American Idol Season 9?
I’ve watched a few hours of “So You Think You Can Dance” on FOX, but mainly for the unknown music thy use for their routines. I’ve watched one hour of “Nashville Star” on NBC/CMT, but it’s just not working for me. I’ve watched a few hours of “Can You Duet” also on CMT, but I’m not a big duets fan just give me a solo artist or a full band. Then on Tuesday night “America’s Got Talent” kicked off on NBC with some surprising acts, but yet I’m still just not sure. I’m having a really tough time trying to find a TV replacement for American Idol.
I can’t be the only person in America having this issue. So, here’s the BIG question what are you watching that we may be missing? Is there something that one of these shows or another music type show that other ST.net daily readers could find of interest?
Encouraging words from Jenny of Addison Road
Addison Road has been having HUGE success with their single “All That Matters” from their “Addison Road” project. Well, now it’s time for the second single “Sticking With You” to drop on your radio. Here’s an e-mail we received from their lead singer Jenny Simmons…
The song, Stickin with You, is about hiding. Or trying to hide. And it is from the perspective of a friend who says, “Look, I know you messed up. I know you are trying to hide from me now because you feel guilty. I know you want to detach. Go it alone. Live your own way and suffer from your own consequences. Try to make it by yourself…but I will not leave you. You cannot hide from me. I am sticking with you no matter what.

Apple wants more mobile music from labels
Apple has approached some of the major music labels to try to expand the variety of ringtones and other musical features available on the slow selling iphone. Several record label executives have told THE NEW YORK TIMES’ that negotiations between the parties is very active right now.
Ringtones are a very profitable corner of the music business these days, as the price for a short segment of a song is higher than for the full song. Right now, Apple offers ringtones as a 99-cent upgrade to its regular 99-cent music tracks, but not all tracks can be converted into ringtones.
American Idol 7: David vs David who had the knockout?
We’ve finally witnessed the last American Idol performances of Season 7. Right out of the gate I have to ask, who will walk away with the title of American Idol tonight?
It was fitting that the show began with the Rocky theme and the world famous boxing announcer Bruce Buffer announcing “Let’s get ready to rumble.” Then it got a little weird when the David’s came out in boxing robes and gloves. Read more
