BarlowGirl “Million Voices” Fall Tour with Mercy Ministries
Fervent Records’ sister rock trio BarlowGirl is excited to announce their Million Voices fall headlining tour with Jimmy Needham and Brooke Barrettsmith. Starting in Texas on September 10th, the tour will run through mid-November and focus on encouraging audiences to speak hope, truth and love to others. They have also partnered with Mercy Ministries and will share about this amazing ministry at their show, urging those in attendance to get involved and help support young women at Mercy who face life-controlling issues.
My home Church in Sacramento, CA is currently building a Mercy House here and this place will help hundreds if not thousands of women come to know the Lord in a more powerful and personal way.
40 Day Fast update
Well, this is day 11 of our 40 Day Fast with Inspired To Action. If you haven’t been following along then you probably missed Christian artist Jason Gray’s day on Tuesday. Here’s a quick snapshot of what he had to say…
My name is Jason Gray and I want to tell you why I’m passionate about serving the poor and my work with World Vision. My partnership with World Vision came at a time when I knew there had to be more to Christianity than cultivating and dressing up my personal faith. I read in James where we are told that true religion is this: to look after the orphan and the widow in their distress, and I knew this was the “more” of the gospel that I’d been hungry for.

40 Days Fast
On Monday we joined the Inspired To Action blog to help promote their 40 Day Fast which is taking place right now over the next 40 Days. The concept is to have 40 different bloggers writing about and equipping all of us to take action on behalf of others around the world who may be in need. Right now on the lower left side of StereoTruth.net’s hompage you’ll see the “40 Day Fast” logo. Underneath it you’ll see a list of dates and names, just click on any name next to a date and learn more about that bloggers inspiration.
We’ll be fasting and blogging about TWLOHA on July 18th, but until then we encouraging you too to get involved by reading at last one of these other blogs, Here’s a re-cap of this weeks blogs… Read more
Over $500,000 Donated To Maria’s Miracle Fund
As of last week, over $500,000 has been donated to Maria’s Miracle Fund. There are not enough words to be able to express the deepest gratitude from the Chapman family and the Shaohannah’s Hope ministry for these donations.
This is an overwhelming and honorable tribute to such a spirit-filled family and a beautiful young girl. Due to the generosity of these donations, this ministry continues to give hope and support to orphans around the world to find forever families. Read more
Ministry Spotlight: Mocha Club
How can I give 9 orphans 3 meals in a day, or pay for 21 orphans’ housing for 1 day, or keep a child in school for 3 months, or give 7 Africans clean water for a year, or provide 1 month’s worth of life-saving drugs to someone living with AIDS? You can do all these things, for $7.00 per month. The price of two mochas. Can you give up two mochas a month?
That’s what Mocha Club is all about. Mocha Club supports causes in Africa, which need all the help the world can give right now. Specifically, they support projects like:
- Reuniting mothers and children
- Education
- HIV/Aids prevention and treatment
- Job creation
- Orphan care
- Regrowth in Sudan
Part African aid, part social network, Mocha Club allows you to start a giving team. Each person on your team gives up the mochas, and people in Africa get what they need. Your team is usually a member of a bigger club. (Sanctus Real, who we talked about on Friday, have their own club that you can join). All the teams and clubs working together help to make a difference.
How big of an impact can you make? Ask Addison Road
Other artists that support Mocha Club include Sanctus Real, Matt Wertz, Dave Hunt, Logan Miller and many more.

Checking in with To Write Love On Her Arms
Scott and I feel a strong connection to the ministry To Write Love On Her Arms. They help girls who are stuck in the cycle of addiction, cutting and thoughts of suicide. Our main connection is due to the fact that we’re raising girls of our own, and if they ever needed help this ministry would be a resource they could turn to.
The other reason is that they’ve worked with a lot of the bands (Switchfoot, The Almost, Anberlin, Paramore, etc. ) we cover so that gets us more excited that they’re making a difference. Well, Jamie Tworkowski, founder of TWLOHA, sent us this e-mail over the weekend to share some new tour dates and a few new success stories….
Hey Guys.
How are you? How was your week?
Weird week for me. i’ve been sick. Rest of the team is busy as we’ve got 12 new folks showing up tomorrow, to spend their summer interning with TWLOHA. Michael and Jon are getting ready for two months of Warped Tour. Michael led the charge for us last summer, so he’s an old pro at this point…
