The 2008 American Music Award Winners
The American Music Awards traditionally center on the performances, and last night was no exception. The show featured high-energy sets from Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers and my wife was excited to see New Kids on the Block channel an earlier version of themselves as they sang their latest singles and greatest hits. CD Review: Bart Millard “Hymed Again”
In honor of his performance this past Friday night on “Country’s Most Famous Stage” The Grand Old Opry I thought it was only fitting that I review Bart Millard’s (lead singer for Mercy Me) new solo project called “Hymned Again”. My first thought when I started listening to this project was “It’s not what I expected”. What do you think when you see the word “Hymn”? I thought the exact same thing…all really soft and slow songs. This project is way beyond that. While I’m not familiar with most of these songs there are a few that I know and really like. It’s a different take on what you and now I think how hymn songs should sound. Read more

This weeks cover tune grab bag from MercyMe is for the song “Crazy”. It’s the 2006 mainstream single from Gnalrs Barkley, a musical collaboration between hip hop artists Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo. The song won a 2007 Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.I don’t know about you, but whenever I think hip hop I think MercyMe so put on your Addidas and kick it one time with the boys.
