Leeland Launches New Website
Progressive rock band Leeland launched TheOppositeWay.com last week. It’s an online home for all of their fans to share tories about how they’re living life the opposite way, and to be encouraged to continue to do so.
Leeland Mooring shares…
It is our heart’s desire to help rise up a new generation of worshippers, who aren’t afraid to live different from the world; who aren’t afraid to live the opposite way. You aren’t going to look cool, and you’re not going to fit in when living the opposite way. However, the peace and contentment in the arms of Jesus are worth everything, compared to the nothingness that this passing world will offer.
Getting to know Leeland
A few years ago I received a 12″ vinyl record in the mail for a band called Leeland. Well, since I didn’t have turntables set up in my cubical I quickly jumped over to their myspace page and immediately heard a passionate, progressive and worshipful band. This GRAMMY and four-time Dove Award nominated band has lived up to the buzz from that first project, “Sound Of Melodies” and now are on the road promoting their new one, “Opposite Way”.
Leeland is not only making me a fan once again with “Opposite Way”, but some of Christian music’s most influential artists (including Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, Third Day, Chris Tomlin and Switchfoot, to name a few) are big fans too. I wanted to get caught up with the guys, so I reached out to our good friend Allison at Red Music , who hooked us up with Jack Mooring from the band for this exclusive interview.
