We’ve been following Jessica Simpson’s rise in Country music after years of being in the pop music arena. We’re once again impressed by this new song “Remember That” in which Jessica talks about how you can’t lose who you are when your in a relationship with another person. The only relationship that is everlasting is the one you must have with Christ. If He isn’t your first relationship then none of the others ones in your life will be satisfying.

I truly feel like she’s on the verge of using all of her gifts and talents for His glory as she continues to cross over from Pop music and Hollywood to Country music and family in Dallas, TX. She will release her highly anticipated debut country album, “Do You Know?”, September 9th. Six months ago when Scott & I started StereoTruth.net one of our prayers was to open the minds of our readers to the faith life that many of today’s mainstream artists have and then see where God guides them in the future. Since then I’ve blogged about mainstream bands like Collective Soul, Flyleaf, OneRepublic, The Jonas Brothers and Paramore just to name a few. I’ve done this because it would be very easy for me as Christian who has a personal relationship with Christ to jump onto the negative side of a person or band, but what if I learned the facts about their faith and just prayed for them instead?
Today I’m going to just present you with the facts on Jessica Simpson’s upbringing as a Baptist Minister’s daughter in Abilene, Texas. No, this is not going to be about how smart she may or may not be, or why her marriage to Nick Lachey didn’t work out or will the Cowboy’s win any Superbowls while she’s a part of Tony Romo’s life. But, I do hope that by the end of this blog post you, just like me, may feel a tug from God to say a prayer for her instead of joining the crowd to knock her down. Read more
