Since the inception of Christian SoundScan (cd sales tracking company) in July 1995 only two Christian projects debuted in the top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 alongside other mainstream projects. In Sept. 1997 LeAnn Rimes’ “You Light Up My Life” (who knew this was a Christian project?) claimed the #1 spot while Amy Grant’s “Behind The Eyes” came in at #8 for the week ending Sept. 14, 1997. But, I can’t tell you how much the first single “Jesus Messiah” has moved me into a closer relationship with Christ. Chris Tomlin “Hello Love” to drop Sept. 2nd
Reigning three-time Gospel Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, best-selling worship leader and all around cool guy Chris Tomlin will release his fifth studio project, “Hello Love”, on Sept. 2nd.
The project’s debut single, “Jesus Messiah,” was released two weeks ago and it was the most added song on Christian Radio, according to Radio & Records. The song is also having a huge impact online, ranking No. 1 on the Christian Top Chart at iTunes after 1 week.
