It’s been a while since I’ve done a write up so here is one for the band The Choir. They’re in no way a new band, having already pushed out 11 previous studio projects. Their 12th project is called “Burning Like The Midnight Sun”. If you like Depeche Mode or Sonicflood then you’ll quickly become a fan of The Choir.
They’re a Grammy nominated and critically acclaimed band of brothers. This new project was produced by Steve Hindalong and Derri Daughtery. While it may have taken them 5 years to get it completed this latest release is well worth the wait. It integrates the musical personalities of all five members Steve , Derri, Dan Michaels, Marc Byrd and Tim Chandler in a way that Steve calls…
Smooth and satisfying. We’re thrilled to offer it to our listening friends.

I don’t get the Sonicflood reference; I don’t think they sound anything like Sonicflood. They are hard to describe, Derri’s vocals and guitar are pretty unique. Steve is an incredible lyricist. If you are looking for something different than the normal CCM fare, give this record a try. I highly recommend it.
Whoever wrote this needs to do some research, especially if you aren’t familiar with their work. These guys along with 5 or 6 other bands spearheaded the “alternative” christian scene in the late eighties and through the nineties, shaking up the doldrums of CCM. Derri Daugherty and Marc Byrd penned “God of Wonders.” Their music is original and awe-inspiring. You didn’t even review the record. An unfavorable review would have been better than this. You might as well have said “Here’s a band that’s been around awhile…check em out if you get a chance.”
