Today, I will be reviewing the new album from Sanctus Real titled “Pieces Of A Real Heart” that’s available everywhere tomorrow. This is their 5th project and it does not disappoint.
I have been a fan of Sanctus Real ever since I first heard their song “Alone” from their “Fight The Tide” project. It spoke to me so much and so do these songs.
One of the things that I love about Sanctus Real is that with each project they always have something new and fresh but still keep the core of who they are. I love how they share their heart and their passion with everyone.
Here are a couple of songs that spoke to me a lot. There are many amazing songs on this new project, but I don’t want to make a book out of this CD review.
I want to talk about the first track Forgiven. One of the coolest things I’ve seen a band do is what the guys did with the song Forgiven. They had the song up on their website and wanted people to share their own stories of being forgiven or how other people dealt with forgiveness. To me that song speaks to me so much. We all carry around so much stuff and it weighs us down. If we just let it go and forgive people of what they have done to us then it’s amazing how much better we feel. It also works if you have done something to somebody else. It’s so freeing, the power of forgiveness.
Here is what Matt had to say about track four “Lead Me” it was a musical response following his wife Sarah’s imploring him to be a better spiritual leader in their marriage and for their two young children.
There’s an epidemic of broken homes today. This is the first generation statistically that really believes that divorce and separation are just a normal part of family life. I want to do whatever I can to strengthen families and help them raise kids that have positive role models in moms and dads. And it starts with me. While I am committed to ‘death do us part,’ Sarah made me realize that I was coasting in our marriage. As God is doing great things in my own marriage, I hope that ‘Lead Me’ can be a tool to open a dialog for struggling families, to help strengthen them in their relationships and enabling them to grow together spiritually.
We all carry around so much stuff and it weighs us down. If we just let it go and forgive people of what they have done to us then it’s amazing how much better we feel. It also works if you have done something to somebody else. It’s so freeing, the power of forgiveness.
Another one of my favorite songs is track six “Take Over Me”. It’s about how we sometimes live our life the way we want, but we need God to take over our life. I love rockin’ out to music and I can totally do that with this song. It’s a good song to listen to in the car.
Then there is track nine “Dear Heart”. This is a song about how we follow our heart so many times and depend on our feelings instead of following God. I know that I’ve done that so many times and probably will in the future but I know that God will never let me down. I can always depend on him.
If you have someone in your life that needs encouragement then I suggest that you pick this project up in our Amazon.com store below and send it to them.
