I’ve mentioned a few times over the last two years…me and country music don’t jive, but two weeks ago and then again last night my girls Isabella (10) and Grace (8) asked us as a family to watch Carrie Underwood’s Christmas Special on FOX. Being that it’s Christmas I happily released the remote from my hands.
As I watch Carrie pull off some pretty silly comedy sketches along with a few of her mega hit songs there is still one song that I can’t get out of my head today. It’s called “Temporary Home” from her current “Play On” project. If you’ve never heard it then I challenge you to put aside your Country music bias like I did and give it a listen. You hit the nail on this one. I’m also not a big fan of Country (or Western for that matter), but this is a tremendous song.
Carrie Underwood really helped me change my focus from today to “that day.”

What a great song! I loved the message of the song and thanks for posting the lyrics. This song can apply to many in that are struggling but can realize there is a better place in life that can be attained.
This is one of my favorite songs of the year so I completely agree. The lyrics have a lot of meaning plus Carrie Underwood has one incredible voice!

Carrie Underwood has gotta be the best singer alive today. This song is beautiful and of course Carrie’s voice is the final touch!

Well I must say..I’m a big country fan and an even bigger Carrie fan. So this song is brillint! I love it, and I think Carrie is the best Country singer out there.
Yes, I’m a HUGE fan so that might be why I think that. But I would encourage you’all to go listen to some of her other stuff. All of her albums are great, but PLAY ON is the best IMO.

the meaning of this song is that Carrie Underwood is trying to say that being in a foster home is just a temporary home that is going to get you through life!!!
