u2bono-2It looks like U2 is causing a ruckus once again with their neighbors in Dublin, Ireland. Accord to spinner.com Bono and the boys have been informed by the city of Dublin that they breached noise levels during their Croke Park concerts last July. They’ve decided to fine them $53,000 for this disturbance. On top of that the concert promoters were hit with another $36,000 fine as well. The Dublin City Council levied the penalties against them for allowing U2 to exceed allowed noise limits a number of times during their shows.

U2 is by far Ireland’s biggest musical act and I think they should get a little more love from their local city council in Dublin considering all the tourists this brought in over the 3 days they performed. It’s also being reported that U2 along with this promoter made more than $20 million in profits during this tour stop. That makes these fines seem like pennies, but still a lot of money for a little bit of noise. In addition to the noise concerns it took another 44 hours to dismantle the stage and that’s what probably really sent area residents over the edge.

Do you feel these fines were fair? Let us read your two cents in the comment box below.
