billboard.com is reporting that Bon Jovi’s new project “The Circle” is the #1 album on their Billboard 200 chart this week. “The Circle” sold 163,000 copies in it’s first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is the fourth time for them to have a project debut in the top spot on Billbord’s chart. Their 2007 release “Lost Highway”, 1996′s “Slippery When Wet” and 1988′s “New Jersey” all landed at the top. They’ve racked up a total of 10 top 10 albums and every one of their studio releases since 1986 has reached the top 10. Their first single from “The Circle” is called “We Weren’t Born To Follow,” is #1 for the second week in a row at mainstream radio stations around the country.
The chart’s second-highest debut comes from our friends in Flyleaf. Their sophomore project “Memento Mori” arrived at #8 with a career-high of 56,000 copies sold. Their 2006 self-titled debut spent a whopping 133 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.
