katyperryinpluggedKaty Perry’s getting unplugged for the first time in her musical career. mtv.com is reporting that on November 17th, she’ll release a new project “MTV Unplugged: Katy Perry”. This will be a limited-edition CD/DVD set that captures the stripped-down set she taped for MTV earlier this summer.

Featured songs in this package are rearranged takes on her hits like “I Kissed a Girl,” Waking Up in Vegas,” “Thinking of You”, but for me it’s the track “Brick By Brick” that I’m looking forward to you hearing. But, no need to wait till November 17th check it out now…

Katy’s “Unplugged” will debut during MTV’s morning video block “AMTV” on November 16th, and the full program, along with interview material, will air on MTV.com later in the day.

Katy recently began working on the follow-up to her breakthrough “One of the Boys” project and told MTV News…

I’m kind of thinking I want to do my record like a mesh between ‘Lovefool’ by the Cardigans and ['The Sign'] by Ace of Base. I want to make songs that people want to hold hands and roller-skate to.

Wow. Thanks for sharing, Randy. Of course, we all know that Katy Perry is Katy Hudson, but I don’t think my ears have ever been able to make that connection. The voice on “One of the Boys” just doesn’t remind me of the voice on her self titled album, “Katy Hudson.” That is until now…wow. What a voice.
