kingsofleononlybythenightBillboard.com is reporting that Kings of Leon continue to climb the mainstream charts. This week, the Followill family quartet rises to the top of their Alternative Songs and Adult Top 40 charts with two songs “Notion” and “Use Somebody” from their “Only By The Night” project.

I just heard their new song “Notion” yesterday while watching VH1’s “Jump Start” show and after just one listen I know why this song has quickly become the band’s third #1 song. They have become the first band to earn three #1 songs from a single project since Foo Fighters, whose “Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace” yielded “The Pretender,” “Long Road to Ruin” and “Let It Die” in 2007-08.

Frontman Caleb Followill recently told The Village Voice…

One soundcheck we all played our parts. Like I started playing the melody on the guitar, just kind of found the chords, and literally everyone one at a time jumped in. Then I sang it, and we finished and I asked my soundman if he recorded it, and he said, ‘Yeah,’ and there’s the song.

This song is an attack on people who diss their band, but I believe it can be used in your own life. That if someone says anything negative about you then just push back with the truth in love and not hate for the other person. Let us know what you think of this song or Kings of Leon’s music in general by posting your thoughts in the comment box below the video.

Kings of Leon “Notion”
I got a notion that says it doesn’t feel right
Got the answer in your story today
You gave me a sign that didn’t feel right

So don’t knock it, don’t knock it, you been here before
So don’t knock it, don’t knock it, you been here before I

I just wanted to know if i could go home
Been rambling day after day
Everyone says they don’t know

So don’t knock it, don’t knock it, you been there before
So don’t knock it, don’t knock it, you been there before
I got a notion that says it doesn’t feel right

I just wanted to know if i could go home
So don’t knock it, don’t knock it, you been there before
So don’t knock it, don’t knock it, you been there before
