I’m supper stoked to share with you today the only project I’ve been listening to for the last two weeks. “Church Music” will not only become the David Crowder Band’s fifth album, but it will mark a change in the way Church music in the future may be created. The 17 tracks on this new project play continuously from beginning to end with one song blending into the next. The result: 73 full minutes of music that pull you into a personal space with God like I’ve never experienced before.
Don’t get me wrong I’ve heard a lot of great projects over the last 20 years, but I’ve never put one in my CD player (Yea I’m old school…no i-pod here) that went from one song to the next and couldn’t wait for the next one to start. We’ve all bought a project becasue a song we heard on the radio connected with us. Then you go pick it up or download it to find out that of the 12 songs on the project only the one from the radio is a hit. That is not the case with “Church Music.” Honestly, I don’t think they could have come up with a better title becasue once you start listening to it you too will feel like you’re smack dab in the middle of His church which may be your car, school or even at the gym.
The first seven tracks on this project took me back to my youth when I would listen to Nine Inch Nails or Depeche Mode. These first seven songs have a musical arraignment that only the David Crowder Band could pull off. Tracks #8 through #11 will bring your soul into worship with God. These 4 songs will become new worship songs for Church’s around the globe to sing for years to come. Track #9 “All Around Me” is by far my favorite track on the entire project. If your a fan of Flyleaf’s then you too will enjoy this song because it’s the words from their smash hit single off their 2005 “Flyleaf” project. In place of the hard rock riffs and Lacey’s strong vocals is a simple piano and David’s soft voice painting a beautiful picture that will remind you that Jesus is the risen son of man and is alive inside us as well as all around us.
Tracks #12 through #17 are a great example of how the future Church music will sound. It’s no longer wooden pews, hymn books and organs to express our love for the Lord through song. Now, there is nothing wrong with those elements of the Church I grew up in, but these 6 songs bring new instruments, passion and words into the Church like never before. From synthesizers, to keyboards, to pianos and drums these songs are a great way to close the book on the David Crowder Band’s “Church Music” project that will be available everywhere Sept. 22nd.

“73 full minutes of music that pull you into a personal space with God like I’ve never experienced before”
That may be the most accurate description of this album.
I can’t even express how amazing it is.
Be blessed.

Sad. What a let down…. i only like 2 songs out of the whole album. SMS and all around. Thats it. U might as well just download these 2 songs. ‘Immature’ would be a good word to describe the music. Remedy was much much better. But, i think Crowder is still the best Christian musician out there. Wait for the next album and dont believe the hype!
@Mr. R E : Saying this is immature, is an inaccurate description showing your ignorance of the brilliance of this album. Why is it immature? Because they replace the old ‘Organ’ sound with Techno beats and innovative melodies?
