Our good friend Aaron Shust was recently been featured in The New York Times. Yes, The New York Times! They got a hold of his new “Take Over” project and just like our staff writer Darlene said in her review of it…they love it too! Here’s what they had to say about it…
“Take Over” (Brash Music), Mr. Shust’s third and best album and one of this year’s most impressive Christian records, is produced by Rusty Varenkamp and Jason Ingram (Mr. Shust’s frequent writing partner), in arrangements that deliberately elide bombast: a raucous “Come and Save Us,” a tender “Rest in the Arms,” a jaunty folk-inflected “Ever After.” Throughout, Mr. Shust’s voice is warm and slightly fatigued, which turns out to be crucial: he sounds as if he’s working through his feelings about belief rather than just giving in.
WOW! I just hope that Aaron will still talk to us now. Have you picked up your copy of “Take Over” yet? It came out last week so what are you waiting for go get it now.
