american-idol-3201Over 64 MILLION votes came in after Tuesday’s American Idol Performance Show, which was the highest rated night ever outside of the finale night. But the question was…how were they divided up? A Ford Music Video kicked off the show, with the kids singing “Move Along.”

Slash, this week’s mentor, finally got to rock out onstage—he played guitar while the kids sang “School’s Out.” It must kind of feel like the last week of Senior Year for them, as they’ve been on this Idol journey for months now. I bet they feel happy and sad knowing that it will all be over soon. I LOVED seeing clean-cut Ryan Seacrest standing next to Slash, with his nose ring, big hair, hat, and sunglasses.

Don’t forget that tix for the Idols Live Tour (kicking off in Portland, Oregon) go on sale Saturday!!!

All of a sudden, it hit me who Kris Allen reminds me of:  Chris Daughtry with hair!

These kids all have the best personalities, and are so cute and unique. Danny joked about the horror movie-style scream he did at the end of “Dream On” on Tuesday. He said that his Aunt actually MUTED the tv, and that other people were making ringtones out of the scream, lol.

Before getting into the actual elimination, Paula Abdul (for the first time ever) hit the Idol stage to perform! She lip-synced “I’m Just Here For The Music,” but A) I don’t think any of us actually wanted to hear her sing live, and B) it’s understandable when you’re dancing. The song was cute! And at the end, her backup dancers turned into paparazzi, and started yelling questions, one of which was, “Will you be back next season?”  aula’s answer?  “I’m just here for the music.”

LOVE the Tom’s Shoes ad! Someone at my husband’s office gave him a pair of the shoes for Christmas, and it was cool for us to read up on Blake’s company and see that a child in another country would also get shoes.

Has No Doubt really been together for 13 years? How has Gwen Stefani not aged at all? And how cute are her kids, Kingston and Zuma? They did “Just A Girl,” and at one point Gwen started doing pushups onstage! And the drummer was in a tutu with striped leggings.

Ryan told us that if the kids survive the elimination, they’ll get to become Hometown Heroes next week. This has always been such a sweet thing in seasons past, with parades for the kids, appearances at the local mall, and cheerleading squads greeting them at the airport. The finalist would be in announced in a random order, and this time the stools on the stage were for the Top Three. I think my heart was beating as fast as any finalist’s—I’m always so nervous for all of them. Heartthrob Kris was sent to safety first!!! I think I saw tears in his eyes…he seemed genuinely shocked and touched.

Season Five’s Chris Daughtry was eliminated three years ago this week, but “that defeat turned out to be just the beginning.”  Daughtry’s first album went quadruple platinum, and the new one is coming out in July. The first single is “No Surprise,” and it’s going to be another smash! BTW, have you ever heard Chris sing “Agnus Dei?” AMAZING! Listen to it here.

Back to the elimination. The second person in Idol’s Top Three was…Adam!!! After the record-setting vote of 64 million…Danny was safe!!! All the judges were on their feet clapping for Allison, as the strains of “Home Sweet Home” began. She sang “Crybaby” once more, and I realized how much I’m going to miss her.

Do you think America made the right decision? Is there anything Allison could have done differently on Tuesday that you think might have saved her? Was it the fact that she got sassy with Simon? Or do the guys just have so many fans among the girls that watch (and have lots of time to vote) that there was nothing she could have done? I think we’ll see Allison back on the Idol stage in a few years, just like Daughtry, after having sold a gazillion copies of her album. Well done, Allison!  Have a great week, and join us back here soon for our recap of Tuesday’s Top Three Performance Show.

Once again AI finds a way to turn a quality show into a piece of ‘reality crap’!! Sorry, but they seem to do it every year that I’ve watched (seasons 4 to current). In season 4 it was that idiot Bo Bice they run to the finals, in season 5 Chris Daughtry was voted off early, in 6 it was that jack of all asses Sanjaia What’sHisFace and last year it was the Battle of the Davids. Now don’t get me wrong, I think most years they got the winner right (except season 5). But isn’t it ironic how there is always an UNEXPECTED suprise late in the competition?

I really love watching heroes, it came from boring into a very good tv show now. For the first few eps, I was like, its just an xmen copy. But it turned out to be exciting, I really hope new episoded will be aired sooner.
