If you’re a fan of all kinds of music like me than it’s really easy to forget how one song can have a profound influence in the lives of so many people. It’s starting to look like “Ocean Wide” by The Afters is one of those songs. my name is noah, and i actually go to the same church as Josh. i heard your song “ocean wide” on 89.7 power FM here in TX, and i just started crying. i have been anorexic for almost three years, and the day i heard that song i was planning to commit suicide. i struggle with depression and cutting. i was in my room fooling around on my bass guitar, and i was listening to the radio. just as that song came on, i was planning out how i was going to commit suicide. i had written out ketters to my parebts and a few friends and everything. but as that song came on, i realized that i was in desperate need of Christ.
This is why artist’s like The Afters spend so much time on the road away from their own families in hopes that their musical gifts and talent can save one life. I’m grateful that their song and the Holy Spirit showed up in Noah’s room at the right time. If you get a moment say prayer of thanks to God for helping them create the right song for Noah to hear and ask Him to keep His hand upon Noah’s life in the day’s ahead.
