On Sunday night Chris Sligh’s new friends Rascal Flatts won the 2009 Country Music Award for Top Vocal Group. Now that they’re good friends maybe they too can join Chris at his annual Fro Patro Picnic, July 3rd, in Nashville, TN.
The idea of a picnic began to take root with the Fro Patro which is Chris’ fan club and they began to think of how great it would be to finally meet each other. It wasn’t long before mention of the picnic popped up over on Chris’s blog. Then on Sept. 8th, 2007 Chris made this statement on his blog…
I was thinking what we could do is have a picnic for the Fro Patro’ (or meal, depending on weather). We would advertise it to all fans through all the websites and stuff and hopefully have a few people come out. Then we would have a big show somewhere in Nashville. Could be cool.

Well that was all that was needed to get the ball rolling. It wasn’t long after that, that several of Chris’s fans, who didn’t live too far from Nashville, got together and started planning to make the picnic a reality. A trip to Nashville was made to scout out “a place” to have the event and check out the local Bar-B-Q.
After much anticipation, on January 24th 2008, Chris made the official announcement that the picnic would be held on July 5th, 2008. So members of the Fro Patro from all across the country gathered in Nashville, TN to spend a weekend with each other and their “Idol”, Chris Sligh. We’re doing it again on July 4th, 2009 and here’s Chris’ personal invitation to you…
If you’re free this 4th of JUly weekend and within a few hours of Nashville, TN then you need to make plans to join Chris at the 2nd annual Fro Patro Picnic, July 3rd, 2009, in Nashville, TN and help support a worthy cause, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Hey, you don’t even have to be within a few hours of Nashville. Last year, we had attendees from AZ, CA and NY…ten states in all. Come join us…it was a blast!
