After Edmond is just a bunch of goofballs that don’t take themselves or much of anything seriously. Mitch, Ben, Matt, Yates and Adam have been electrifying the music scene and beyond since 2001, touring tirelessly and refining a potent alternative sound. Now, it’s time for you to become part of the AE Army.
After Edmund first originated in 2001 as the band “Taken”. They released five independent albums before changing their name to “After Edmund”. The new name comes from the Edmund character in C.S. Lewis’ bestselling book series “The Chronicles of Narnia”.
They explain their music and ministry this way…
You see, all of us, known as the singular entity After Edmund, think music, creativity, work, play, marriage, school, birth, life, and death are just part of our having a relationship with our Creator.
Everything we do is ultimately to show love for/to God. (That’s Jesus the Jewish rabbi from 0 A.D. for those of you keeping score). All of our lives have been radically changed by the guy we pray to. Naturally, this affects everything we do. And that’s a good thing.
We don’t necessarily condone the actions of everyone who calls themselves Christians. A lot of what people do in the name of Christ has nothing to do with Jesus or what he calls us to do. And that makes Jesus look bad. We don’t want to be those kind of people. Loving Jesus is all about receiving God’s gift of grace and freedom and genuinely caring for and sharing Christ’s good news with everyone around us.
A few weeks back they won MTV2’s “Rock the Revolution” contest in Atlanta which put them up on the same stage as Linkin Park this past Sunday. MTV2 was there filming the whole show so that means you’ll be seeing their shinny, happy faces all over MTV & MTV2 very soon.
They will also be hitting the road in the fall alongside Building 429 and Addison Road for a 30-city nationwide tour. The band’s new single “Clouds” has just been released to Christian CHR stations everywhere.
