David Cook has teamed up with Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo on his debut project, due out this fall. Rob Cavallo is best known for his work with the legendary pop-punk band Green Day. Rob has also produced records for superstar artists such as Kid Rock, Eric Clapton, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls, and is also working with the Dave Matthews Band on their upcoming release.

When not on the road with the American Idols Live tour, David has been busy in the studio co-writing many of the upcoming projects tracks.

Check this fact out earlier this summer David set the record for the most new entries by an artist in the 50-year history of the Hot 100, with 11 songs entering the chart dated June 7, 2008. That broke the record of six new entries in one week. Cook’s 11 songs were led by “The Time of My Life,” which debuted at No. 3, making it the highest new entry of 2008.
