One week ago today This Beautiful Republic released their new project “Perceptions”. Well, our good friend and lead singer Ben Olin sent us an e-mail about their performance with Skillet & John Reuben and how release day went for the band.
Hey guys
It has come and gone and we have all survived. Release day. A day that warranted the most insane travel schedule we’ve ever had. It was worth it.
We were privileged to share the stage with veterans Skillet and the always-entertaining John Reuben on Monday and it was truly amazing as we stood in front of 2700 rock fans who were rearing to go. The experience was the best I’ve had in so long.
Until the next day. Tuesday August 19th, 2008. A day where a recording we’ve spent nearly a complete year working on was finally released for sale. I read the comments from the diehard fans who downloaded it at 1am or even staked out the late-night record store to get “Perceptions,” first. They made me smile. It was beautiful to see how people had attached to songs that God has given to us and allowed us to record.
We, then, debuted the songs on YES FM on a live broadcast and later that night played a CD release show for all of families and friends and most adamant supporters.
It was an overwhelming feeling to look out and see all of the history behind each person’s attendance. It was overwhelming and I thank every one of you for your role in getting us to the place that we are now. We feel like we’ve reached one higher rung with this record and we have you to thank for it.
We truly adore and love all of you. You’re the Ones.
Ben and the TBR guys.
