On Friday I asked what shows you’re watching this summer until American Idol returns in January. Well, it looks like I may have just found the show…even though it won’t be ready ’till fall. But hey, it will at least get me through those long winter nights.
The New York Daily News is reporting that Ms. Jackson is getting her own reality MTV competition show. The show will mark the first project that she and MTV have collaborated on since the pop singer’s infamous Super Bowl halftime “wardrobe malfunction.”
It will be (no surprise here) a music competition series in which she will serve as a mentor for a group of aspiring singers and dancers. Executive producer Dave Broome said…
It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake or Usher. And we’ll find it from a pool of people whom you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups and local community centers and try to cast the show.
The untitled project has already begun casting and will be filmed as Janet prepares for her world tour, which will kick off on September 10th. The grand prize has yet to be determined. Will you watch it?
