Recap American Idol 7: Top 4 Resluts

Last night’s American Idol results show appeared to be a no brainer, since most of America believed that since Jason Castro forgot his lyrics he would be eliminated. 51 million votes were cast and that was the highest for the season. The top three were all within one million votes of each other. That’s a pretty wide margin if you ask me.

The Top 4 open up the show by singing Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ in the Years.” It was once again very cheesy, to say the least. Then we got a really, really, really long look at Tuesday night’s performances. You know you’re down to the final four when all you have for content is flashback video. I know a better way to fill time, how about talking to the final four? How do you feel? What do you think will happen? Are you ready to go home? Just a thought.

David Archuleta was brought on stage first which only meant he was safe for another week. No surprise there. Before David Cook came out to center stage for his results, we watched a video of the Top 4 being flown to Las Vegas to watch the Beatles’ Love Cirque du Soleil show. I hear that this show is simply amazing. After the video David was told he will be back next week. Ryan then took some more ridiculous phone calls from America.

Maroon 5 performed which was followed up by a rockin’ solo performance from Bo Bice. After that, it finally came time to announce the final results. Would it be Syesha or Jason? As expected, Jason Castro was eliminated from American Idol. I’m still unsure how Brooke and Jason both forgot their lyrics and the very next week they were gone, but little boy wonder forgot his lyrics and he’s moved into the final 3. I just wonder if, when his fans drop fifty bucks to go see him and he can’t remember the lyrics to his own songs, they’ll be as forgiving?

  1. That crazy designer, mac guy from the office says:

OK so Castro forgot the lyrics, true, but was his “I Shot the Sheriff” not one of the most pain covers of all time? OK so he had dreads, but how can there be any connect between him and the really pretty gritty lyrics? Very, very laughable. It hurt me just to have to hear it again in the send off.
