The Jonas Brothers are just that…a band of brothers Nick, Kevin, & Joseph from Wyckoff, New Jersey. If you don’t have a clue who these guys are than just go to your local mall, stop into any teeny bop store and you’ll hear their music. In my very own household our girls have been listening to and watching their music videos for the last year.
To date they’ve released two mainstream albums “It’s About Time” in 2006 and “Jonas Brothers” last year. Right now their single “When You Look Me In The Eyes” is playing on Top 40 radio and the video is getting heavy rotation on Disney Channel & MTV.
The Jonas Brothers started as a solo project of Nicholas (Nick) Jonas….
In November 2003, INO Records (home to MercyMe) received a demo copy of “Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer).” The label released the song to Christian radio, where it quickly became popular and to this day is still the number one requested Christmas song every year.
Their parents are both musicians – dad Kevin Sr. is also co-founder of Christ For The Nations Music – so everyone gathering around the piano for sing-alongs was an essential part of regular family bonding. Inspiration for their songs not only comes from this tight family bond, but also their personal experiences–from the highs and lows of dating, to being on the road, to having been given the opportunity to follow their dreams at such a young age. The songs also celebrate the joy of living and encourage people to feel good.
Nick is the founder of The Nicholas Jonas Change For The Children Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to the needs of abused, homeless, and terminally ill children. He started this effort after seeing a homeless family on the streets of New York City.
Right now they’re headlining their own “Look Me In The Eyes Tour” and just finished up recording their 3rd studio project which will be out later this year. Disney has signed the brothers to a concert special, movie called “Camp Rock” which will premiere in theaters nationwide this June along with a new Disney TV Series entitled J.O.N.A.S! (Junior Operatives Networking As Spies) starring the trio as a group of government hired spies. On top of all that tonight you can see them perform live on ABC’s hit TV show “Dancing With The Stars”.
