Yesterday we asked you to send us questions for Sanctus Real. Well Mark Graalman (Mark Steven Graalman Jr., to be quite exact, Sanctus Real’s drummer and one of the three original members.from the band) was kind enough to take time to answer them. Here’s the e-mail I just got back from him for you to read.

We love you guys and hope our relationship with you continues to thrive and be fruitful for the Kingdom! You guys are such a blessing to us! Hope these answers work out well for ya’:
Cassie N. (Michigan) - What are some of the most unique or memorable experiences you’ve had with a fan?
Mark - We’ve had a few times when we’ve played at amusements parks where we have to ride a roller coaster with some radio winners or something like that. I think those have to be the most entertaining moments for the lucky fan because they get to see me scared out of mind and acting like a little baby because I HATE roller coasters!
Cassie N. (Michigan)What band was the most fun to tour with?
Mark - It’s tough to pick just one because we’ve had so many great experiences and have made so many friends over the years, but most recently we toured with Steven Curtis Chapman. He as well as his band have to be some of the best guys we’ve ever met. Truly fun people with genuine hearts for serving Christ! Great experience!
Kristen – What is your most memorable and/or funniest experience that has happened to you while in Sanctus Real?
Mark -Once while driving through the night our alternator went out in our van. We had to get to Minneapolis airport very early and couldn’t afford to lose time sitting in a shop somewhere waiting for our van to get fixed. We found a place open late night that had a bunch of car batteries for sale so we preceded to buy four of them. We then drove the van until the battery was be completely out of juice then we would swap it out for a new one and drive that one out of juice. It was an uphill battle but we made it to the airport on time, flew out and played somewhere in Arizona I think and then flew back in time to play Sonshine Fest. Then we were able to get our van fixed and go home. Thanks again to the band Mainstay for helping us out a lot that weekend!
Lauren (So. Cal) – What is one necessity that you must bring with you every time you’re on the road?
Mark - My Bible and a good devotional book, but also my phone so I can talk to my wife and son whenever I need. Yes I know, that’s three things technically, but those are the essentials for sure!

Somebody else hates rollercoasters? Praise God! I can die in peace….
