Last week, I touched base with Mark Grallman from Sanctus Real to talk about what’s happening with the band these days. Here’s a little Q/A with Mark.
StereoTruth: Where are you today?
Mark Graalman: We’re currently at home, we did a run of shows this past weekend in Florida & Alabama, but we’ve been at home for the past week getting ready to do our first K-LOVE Cruise as well as getting last minute things set for WE NEED EACH OTHER coming out on Tuesday Feb 12th!
ST: What kind of set can you do on a Cruise?
MG: We’re going bring the rock just like we always do. We’re not compromising anything.
ST: Will you go see anyone else’s set?
MG: I’ll probably check out Mercy Me & Jeremy Camp ’cause my wife loves them! I would definitely love to see Shane & Shane, Jeremy Riddle & Starfield because I’ve heard nothing but great things about all those artists but have never had the chance to see them live.
ST: What was the feeling in the band when the Third Day tour confirmation came in?
MG: Kind of like “wow we ARE getting somewhere!” Third Day doesn’t just take out anybody, they are one of the few bands that get to be as choosey as they want about who their openers are, so we feel quite honored.
ST: Why when you’re in California it’s a priority to eat at In ‘N’ Out Hamburgers?
MG: Because we’re used to Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, etc. and that stuff just does not compare to how much better In ‘N’ Out tastes! Plus In ‘N’ Out doesn’t leave you feeling completely gross after you’re done eating it like all the other fast food burger joints do. It’s just yummy dude!
ST: What’s God showed or taught you the last few weeks?
MG: That we don’t always have to follow the world’s little formula’s as to “How it’s done” when it comes to fulfilling what we believe God has called us to do. What sometimes doesn’t make sense to others may make perfect sense for who God has called us to be so we need to just trust Him and not let people fill our head with discouragement and fear.
